Are you working towards or already hold a certificate in Exotics?

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon with an exotics bias to join our team at 608 Veterinary Centre in Solihull. You will work alongside a large and supportive clinical team of 16 vets, including colleagues with shared exotics interests, allowing regular case discussion and collaboration.

Why join us?

  • Our 24-hour emergency care hospital enables exceptional patient care and excellent case continuity, supported by a well-equipped in-house laboratory with extensive diagnostic capabilities
  • Fully equipped to perform a wide range of procedures, from routine neutering and exploratory laparotomies to orthopaedic surgery
  • We have a strong and continually growing exotics caseload, including reptiles, small mammals and birds. We are fully equipped to operate on and hospitalise exotics, with a dedicated night team ensuring thorough case management
  • A substantial and varied caseload, including a monthly visit to manage the local college’s animal department. Current exotics work accounts for approximately 50% of the role, with scope to increase this in collaboration with the management team

The team

The 608 Vets team is well established, highly regarded, and places a strong emphasis on compassionate care and excellent client service. Our large team includes 16 vets, 30 nurses and 10 administrative associates, supported by a Clinical Director, two Head Vets, a Clinical Nursing Manager and a Practice Manager. We actively encourage further study, with six vets currently working towards certificates in surgery, internal medicine and exotics.

We provide 24-hour emergency service at the Solihull hospital, which is well equipped to deal with a broad range of operations from routine neutering, exploratory laparotomies and orthopaedics. Our 24-hour site allows exceptional patient care supported by our internal lab with great testing scope (cortisol, bile acids, blood gases, ionised calcium, in house culture and sensitive testing etc.).

You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team with a management structure that enables career progression across multiple pathways. We hold regular clinical meetings and are committed to continually developing and maintaining high standards of care. Our associates are dedicated to both our clients and their pets, and we would love to hear from applicants who share these values.
