The Role

This is a key position within the Finance team, focused on ensuring that Linnaeus management reporting is accurate, complete and meaningful to the business.

You will play an important role in supporting the Head of GL, FP&A and Business Partnering teams—providing confidence in UK&I financials, ensuring period-end reporting is delivered on time and to a high standard, and contributing to key finance projects.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Period-End Management

  • Manage daily accounting activities, including journal transactions.
  • Deliver period-end internal reporting in Oracle.
  • Ensure periodic and quarterly financials meet group reporting deadlines.
  • Reconcile financials between Oracle and group reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and understanding of variances.

Period-End Duties

  • Complete sales, wellness plan and revenue deferral data import checks.
  • Post and approve journals (revenue, bad debt, accruals, prepayments).
  • Support reconciliation between Oracle and group reporting systems.
  • Provide reporting and dashboards to business functions.

Balance Sheet & Controls

  • Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring high standards and timely completion.
  • Report risks and opportunities effectively.
  • Support annual P&L budgeting and quarterly reforecast processes.
  • Provide assurance that robust financial procedures and controls are in place.
  • Promote continuous improvement and excellence in financial controls.
  • Support remediation of control gaps within the internal controls framework.

Skills required

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record within a fast-paced, multi-site business.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and building teams.
  • Delivery of reporting within tight deadlines.
  • Implementation of robust financial controls.
  • Demonstrable efficiency improvements.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in specialist retail or medical environments.
  • Reporting into a large group structure.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
