Most practices talk about standards. This one’s been recognized for them – repeatedly.

Maven Veterinary Care isn’t trying to convince you it’s a great place to work, it’s already been externally validated as one of the best. With five “Outstanding” RCVS awards and Gold Cat Friendly status, this is a genuinely high-performing, progressive small animal hospital that invests heavily in both its people and its clinical standards.

If you’re a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 5 years’ UK experience looking to step into a role where quality of care, collaboration and development are genuinely prioritised – this is for you!

Why join us?

  • Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience
  • Flexible working patterns – 3 to 5 days per week considered
  • No out-of-hours or bank holidays
  • 1 in 8 weekends with time off in lieu
  • Three early finishes per week (before 4pm)
  • Certificate holders encouraged and supported (or those working towards)
  • 15-minute consults with protected admin time built in
  • Highly collaborative team culture with daily case discussions
  • An almost perfect split between consults and patient care/surgeries

The practice & team

Maven is a multi-award-winning, 100% small animal hospital, designed around delivering exceptional patient and client care.

You’ll be working in a recently refurbished, single-site hospital with:

Dedicated ultrasound, x-ray and dentistry suites
Two large operating theatres
Separate dog and cat waiting areas and wards
Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status, Dog Friendly accreditation and RWAF Silver

The clinical team includes multiple certificate holders across medicine, surgery and ophthalmology, creating a genuinely supportive environment where knowledge sharing is the norm, not the exception.

You will enjoy a varied and interesting caseload including complex medical workups and surgery, supported in-house. All while enjoying continuity of care with OOH managed onsite – allowing deeper case involvement, giving you access and exposure to more interesting and continuous clinical exposure without the burden.

Based in North Cheam, you get the best of both worlds – easy access into Central London alongside green spaces and a more relaxed pace locally.

  • Excellent transport links (train, underground and night buses)
  • Close to Box Hill and Surrey countryside
  • Near Epsom Downs, Twickenham and Wimbledon
  • Great local schools and family-friendly amenities
  • Easy access to Heathrow and Gatwick
